Cuisine American
- 12 Oreo cookies
- ¼ cup Purple candy melts
- ¼ cup Green candy melts
- ¼ cup Orange candy melts
- Halloween sprinkles e.g., bats, pumpkins, ghosts, and other spooky shapes
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking. Separate your Halloween sprinkles into small bowls so they’re ready to use. Set out your Oreos and have your candy melts prepped.
Place each color of candy melts in its own microwave-safe bowl. Microwave one bowl at a time in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth. Avoid overheating - stirring helps the candy melt evenly.
Use a fork or dipping tool to lower one Oreo into the melted candy. Flip gently to coat, then lift and tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove excess. Place the coated cookie on the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat with 4 Oreos per color (purple, green, and orange), or mix it up however you like!
While the coating is still wet, sprinkle the Halloween decorations over the top. Don’t hold back - this is where the fun happens! Make each cookie a little different with your sprinkle combinations.
Let the cookies sit at room temperature for 30 - 60 minutes, or pop the tray into the fridge for about 15 minutes if you’re in a hurry. They’re ready once the coating feels firm and no longer sticky.
Arrange your finished Oreos on a festive Halloween plate or tray. You can also pack them into treat bags for party favors or gifts. Enjoy!
Use Shallow Bowls for Dipping: A wider, shallow bowl makes it easier to coat the Oreos evenly without using too much candy.
Don’t Overheat the Candy Melts: Stir frequently and heat in intervals to avoid burning or clumping.
Let Kids Help with Sprinkles: This is the perfect part for little hands. Set up a sprinkle station and let their creativity go wild.
Add Texture: Mix in crushed pretzels or candy eyes before the coating sets for extra fun.
